Sexual education and prevention

The aim of the sexual education programs at pro familia is to explain to children and young people sexuality and contraception in an age appropriate way. Thereby, self-confidence, responsibility, partner like behavior, consideration, setting boundaries and tolerance are important to us. We take into account the diversity of ways of life and love and the differences between different cultures.

A central part of our program is the prevention of unwanted pregnancies, sexual transmitted infections (STI, HIV) and sexual abuse.

We place a great deal of importance on the fact that our sexual education teams consist of women and men. This means that girls and boys have their contact persons, and can talk openly and confidentially about love, partnership and sexuality in separate groups, and be taught according to their needs.

pro familia offers parents’ evenings on various topics on sexual development. We advice educational professionals and multipliers, when they are planning sexual education events.

In further trainings we pass on our knowledge about current topics of sexual education - such as how young people should deal with sexual content on the internet, or what should be taken into account in the case of sexual education for girls and boys with a migration background.

People are different. Everyone is of equal worth.
Everyone has a right to self-determined sexuality.
